My name is Bas de Bruijn, I'm married, I have 2 kids and a dog. On this blog I will try to share some thoughts (if and when they occur). Feel free to comment!
During the day I am a self employed mechanical engineer / consultant (for the search engines until I have a multiple language site: "zelfstandig werktuigbouwkundig ingenieur").

Hello Bas,
I want to run solidworks on my macbook retina as well.
I don't have an optical drive. tried to make image of the install disk (on a USB 1TB drive) without succes, error message tells me that the drive is too small. Is there a trick.
Hi Pierre,
I used unetbootin (http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/) at the time to create the USB flash drive (you could also use rufus http://rufus.akeo.ie/). I downloaded an ISO image of Windows 7 and used that for creating the image. Make sure you have a backup of you Mac. During the process don't remove the USB. It will fail when attempting to install windows.
I used a 4GB USB flash at the time.
Hi ! initially i used solidworks on parallels desktop on my mac now i have bootcamped my hardisk and have installed solidworks but the models i had made earlier on soliworks which used parallel desktop do not open in the normal solidworks on the bootcamp windows ! is there a way where i can change the platform so i can access my older models ?
Hi Sonali,
I suppose you don't have different SW versions, in that case the only thing that I can think of are the rights for reading/wrinting. Try copying your files directly in the Bootcamp/Windows folders.
Hope it helps.
